A message from your dog!

Dear two-footed companion:

You certainly know that just like you, we also suffer from pain; however, did you also know that we can also show it?

Some of us are not very good at communication, so it can be difficult to see when we might be suffering. We also have different personalities and different pain thresholds, so we show our suffering differently, but it doesn’t mean we don’t experience pain. Even something as minor as a slight limp or change of appetite should be considered a hint. Did you know that the most common sign of pain is a change in behaviour?

Because we have no way of telling you about our pain, it is important that you, dear two-footed companions, learn to interpret our expressions of pain. Please, ask the vet to provide you with some clues to help in recognising them.

If you think that your own dog might be in pain, the best thing to do is to get a diagnosis from your veterinary surgeon. So, do not hesitate to go and see my vet since the problem will get worse over time without appropriate treatment.

Pain relief may help your own dog live longer because it reduces stress and increases the sense of well-being!

To put you mind at peace, modern treatments have really improved.
You will find all this out in detail on the website www.cimydog.co.uk - and more, such as some tips for pain relief, or a very simple and helpful questionnaire to evaluate pain in your dog.

So to keep on enjoying life with your four-footed companions and guarantee their wellbeing ... watch for the signs of pain because it can be treated successfully!
